The bride is stripped and the bachelors continue to turn their mill, while visitors search for meaning.
In hundreds of works from 1910 to 1923, Duchamp was preparing for and advancing toward his masterpiece "The Bride Stripped Bare by her Bachelors, Even." Paintings and graphical works from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and private collections show his fascination for fauvists, symbolists and cubists and his interest in mathematics, optics, mechanics and psychology.
