Development Zone. Contemporary Art in the Urals
Everything that makes the Urals unique can be found in the work of its artists, ranging from masters of the "Urals post-perestroika avant-garde" to newcomers on the scene.
These objects, paintings, graphic works, assemblages, photographs and graffiti pieces by Ural artists have in common a desire to shatter conventions. This is unsurprising, perhaps, considering that the creators are the descendants of the pioneers who settled this resource-rich region.
