Stephan Balkenhol: Sculptures and Reliefs
These painted wooden sculptures and reliefs are not by a medieval master, nor do they depict the Madonna or saints. Instead, they show people in a crowd.
The exhibition features wooden sculptures and reliefs by Germany's Balkenhol, who in the 1980s created his figurative works in opposition to the minimalist-conceptualist mainstream. Many of the pieces were created especially for this show.
