Absurdist scenes of village life by a master of monochromatic "retrophotorealism."
Voligamsi's black-and-white and brown paintings are reminiscent of old photographs or film stills, though each work has a healthy dose of absurdism. These new works show scenes from an imaginary village, and are accompanied by installations made of rusty metal.
