Igor Polyakov (1909-1942) was a graduate of the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute and Moscow's Polygraphic Institute, and a friend and colleague of Vladimir Favorsky and Andrei Goncharov. He worked both as a theater artist and designer, but he was most passionate about his landscapes of the common or garden variety.
