The sculptures by Mikhail Dronov (b. 1956) play with the visual languages of the past, the grotesque style and absurdism. They have a lot in common with paintings by his contemporaries and colleagues from the so-called 1970s group — notably Tatyana Nazarenko and Natalya Nesterova.
