A hand-embroidered map of the Russian Empire in the 19th century, as well as objects that reflect geographical shifts.
The history of how Russian territory expanded from the 14th century onwards, as commemorated by official artifacts created to mark particular occasions. At the heart of the show is an enormous, hand-embroidered map of the Russian Empire gifted to Alexander II in 1872.
