An exhibition unique in its scale presents the history of icon painting from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
Over 300 icons from the collection of Felix Komarov show how the art of icon painting developed in Rus and in Russia over the course of four centuries. The exhibition elaborates on the various icon-painting schools, the canons of religious paintings, and the traditions of innovators and Old Believers.
