The treasure chest of Russian art, this museum was created by the brothers Pavel and Sergey Tretyakov in 1856. In the historical building, designed by Viktor Vasnetsov, there is artwork from the 11th century to the beginning of the 20th century (including Serov, Vrubel, “The World of Art” and the symbolists). The neighboring Engineering Building contains spaces for temporary exhibitions.
